By mutual agreement Klaus Kristiansen will resign as member of the Executive Board in Realkredit Danmark with effect from 1 August 2023 and will at the same time resign as the Chief Risk Officer to seek new challenges outside Realkredit Danmark. In this connection, the management has decided that the Chief Risk Officer role is no longer to be held by a member of its Executive Board.
Kamilla Hammerich Skytte, Chief Executive Officer, comments: “I would like to thank Klaus for his considerable contribution to Realkredit Danmark through more than 25 years. With his extensive knowledge of Danish mortgage financing and his involvement in the sector-wide cooperation, there is no doubt in my mind that Klaus has helped shape the development of the Danish mortgage credit system. Moreover, Klaus has played a big part in establishing a strong foundation at Realkredit Danmark for effectively managing, in particular, the financial risks associated with the credit, funding, capital and liquidity areas, and he has helped create the Realkredit Danmark business we know today.”
Robert Wagner will assume the role of Chief Risk Officer at Realkredit Danmark with effect from 1 August 2023. He brings 15 years of experience from working in a number of senior management positions within risk management, capital and liquidity at the Danske Bank Group. Robert Wagner currently heads the Liquidity Risk Management function at Danske Bank and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Danske Bank Group’s Swedish and Finnish property financing businesses.
Kamilla Hammerich Skytte continues: "At the same time, I am pleased that Robert Wagner has agreed to take on the position as Chief Risk Officer of Realkredit Danmark. Robert displays a very high level of professional competency and an ability to create good solutions to complex issues, and he has broad experience from many years at Danske Bank.”
She adds: “As the head of Realkredit Danmark’s independent risk function, Robert will be responsible for ensuring that we can manage not only conventional risk areas but also new ones, such as the sustainability area, in a value-creating manner. I look forward to welcoming Robert to Realkredit Danmark.”
Robert Wagner comments: “The Danish mortgage credit model has existed for many years, and it has proven a robust model for financing of residential and commercial properties in Denmark. Bond investors both in and outside Denmark have great confidence in the model. I look forward to contributing to maintaining this confidence from investors and to ensuring effective risk management in the future in the spirit that characterises the entire Danske Bank Group and in step with the implementation of the Group's new strategy. I am both proud and humbled that I have been offered the position as Chief Risk Officer of Realkredit Danmark, which I consider an important player in the recently launched Forward '28 strategy.”
